Faber Muscat

Faber Vineyard was established in 1997 by winemaker John Griffiths in the Swan Valley, one of Australia’s historic regions for fortified wine. Brown Muscat is a cornerstone of the estate, thriving in the region’s hot, dry climate and producing naturally concentrated, raisined fruit.
Faber planted its Brown Muscat in 2000, with the first harvest in 2003. Each vintage is matured separately in small old oak barrels, then incorporated into an evolving multi-vintage blend. Part of each annual blend is returned to barrel, gradually increasing complexity and mature character over time.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep golden tawny.
Nose: Raisin and rose petal with dried fig, honey and subtle old-oak character.
Palate: Intensely sweet and viscous, with raisin, dried fig, candied peel and rich honeyed notes.
Finish: Long and concentrated, finishing surprisingly clean with lingering dried fruit and warm spice.
