J Moreau Chablis

Founded in 1814, J. Moreau & Fils is one of Chablis’ historic wine houses, specializing in Chardonnay and a style built around freshness, fruit and mineral expression.

Chablis lies in Burgundy’s northern Yonne department, where Chardonnay grows on Jurassic-era clay-limestone soils, particularly Kimmeridgian limestone rich in ancient marine fossils. The cool climate and limestone soils help create the high acidity, restrained fruit and mineral character for which Chablis is known.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Pale gold.

Nose: Mandarin, citrus and orchard fruit with fresh almond and subtle mineral notes.

Palate: Fresh and generous, with ripe citrus and fruit balanced by lively acidity and stony minerality.

Finish: Long, clean and distinctly saline.
