Kilchoman 2011 10 Year Old STR Cask Finish

KILCHOMAN 10 YEAR OLD STR FINISH SINGLE CASK BOTTLED EXCLUSIVELY FOR CRAFT CELLARSThis is Craft Cellars 3rd cask exclusive from Islay Farm distillery Kilchoman. After spending some 9 years in an Ex-Bourbon Hogshead it was finished for further year in an ex Wine STR (Shaved - Toasted - Recharred) Cask. Nose: Dried date alongside rich Islay smoke, wet rope, raw almonds, spruce tips with seville oranges. Palate: Luxurious, velvet mouthfeel. There is an initial flurry of stewed apples and pear, black cherry and plum, which is followed a few seconds later by an impressive wave of herbaceous pepper and smoke. Finish: Extremely long and graceful, with a soft sea salt note and charred beachwood.
