Bond Pluribus 2012

Created by Bill Harlan and winemaker Bob Levy, BOND was conceived as a collection of individual Napa Valley vineyard sites capable of producing wines of exceptional, “Grand Cru”-level distinction. Rather than focusing on a single estate vineyard, the project identifies remarkable sites throughout Napa and bottles each separately to showcase its individual terroir. Pluribus is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and comes from a dramatic seven-acre vineyard high on Spring Mountain, at elevations exceeding 1,100 feet.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep, concentrated ruby with a dark, nearly opaque core.

Nose: Intense blackberry, blueberry and black raspberry lead into floral notes, graphite and crushed stone. With air, layers of leather, tea leaf, cedar, espresso and earthy volcanic minerality begin to emerge.

Palate: Full-bodied and muscular, with dense dark fruit framed by substantial yet finely structured tannins. Black plum and berry fruit are joined by graphite, coffee, dark chocolate, leather and savoury earth, while a strong mineral backbone keeps the wine focused despite its considerable weight.

Finish: Long, firm and persistent, carrying dark fruit, espresso, graphite, cedar and stony mineral notes through a powerful, gradually fading finish.
