Banfi La Pettegola Vermentino Toscana IGT

Banfi is one of Tuscany’s best-known wine producers, with its flagship Castello Banfi estate based in Montalcino. La Pettegola, however, looks toward the Tuscan coast and Maremma, where Vermentino is particularly at home. Banfi describes the wine as an expression of the meeting point between the coastal Tuscan breeze and Vermentino’s naturally aromatic personality.

Colour: Bright straw yellow, with subtle greenish reflections in its youth.

Nose: Intensely aromatic, with yellow peach and citrus accompanied by elderflower, thyme, and sage. Broader descriptions from Banfi also highlight apricot, grapefruit, white flowers, and touches of tropical fruit.

Palate: Fresh and lively with a surprisingly full, soft texture, balanced by bright acidity. Ripe stone fruit and citrus are joined by Mediterranean herbs and a subtle savoury quality that gives the wine a distinctly coastal Tuscan feel.

Finish: Long, fresh, and fruit-driven, with lingering citrus, peach, herbs, and a pleasant savoury quality.
