Wolf's Head Napa Cab Sauv

Wolf’s Head is crafted from select Napa Valley vineyard sites where warm daytime temperatures, cool evening conditions, and diverse soils create ideal growing conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. Napa Valley’s extended growing season allows grapes to achieve full phenolic ripeness while preserving freshness and structure, contributing to the depth and balance that distinguish the region’s wines.

The vineyards are managed with a focus on low yields and concentrated fruit development, helping to produce wines with intensity, colour, and aromatic complexity. Careful harvesting and meticulous fruit selection ensure optimal ripeness and quality before fermentation.

Winemaking emphasizes richness and integration through controlled fermentation and maturation in oak barrels, typically French oak, which contributes texture and layers of cedar, cocoa, vanilla, and spice. The result is a polished Napa Cabernet that balances power, fruit concentration, and age-worthy structure.

Tasting Notes

Colour
Deep opaque ruby with garnet highlights.

Nose
Intense aromas of blackberry, cassis, dark cherry, and ripe plum layered with notes of cedar, vanilla, cocoa, graphite, and baking spice.

Palate
Full-bodied and richly textured with concentrated dark fruit flavours, firm yet polished tannins, and balanced acidity. Hints of espresso, dark chocolate, toasted oak, and savoury herbs add depth and complexity.

Finish
Long, structured, and elegant with lingering dark fruit, spice, and refined oak character.

Cellaring & Pairings

Cellaring
Enjoy now with decanting or cellar for 8–12 years for further development and integration.

Pairings
Excellent with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, venison, mushroom dishes, and aged hard cheeses. Its richness and structure also pair exceptionally well with steakhouse cuisine and slow-cooked meats.
