On the nose, deep plum and blackberry fruit mingle with wild violets, underpinned by graphite hints and crushed stone minerality. The palate delivers boysenberry and açai waves of sweet-dark fruit, lifted by bright acidity and backed by fine, compact tannins. Then come notes of walnut shell, hazelnuts and light herbaceous dark-wood spice, adding intrigue and texture.
The long finish leaves fresh dark fruit, a whisper of violet aroma, and firm structure ready for decades of cellaring. Serve it slightly chilled (16 °C–18 °C) and decant before drinking to remove natural sediment. Enjoy it with rich blue-veined cheeses, dried figs or dark chocolate to highlight its rich fruit and nutty character.
