NOSE Initially sharp, with notes of grapefruit pith, softening out with a drop of water into aromas of juicy raisins and grape bubble gum. A slightly fresh and flinty quality, reminiscent of river rock pools, appears to add a characterful edge. PALATE A glass of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice initially, followed by flaky, buttery shortcrust pastry. This proceeds into intense, rich burnt caramel notes - like that of a treacle cake left a little too long in the oven. FINISH A tanginess rests on, like that of concentrated lemon juice.
