La Jota 2021 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Grapes are sourced from the high-elevation volcanic and sandstone soils of Howell Mountain. The 2021 vintage began with low rainfall, and spring and summer were mild. Winemaking involved native yeast fermentation, cold soaking, gentle extraction, barrel aging for 20 months in French oak, and bottling unfined and unfiltered.

This wine presents a powerful nose of black currant, dark berries, scorched earth, graphite, and savory herbs. On the palate it is dense and concentrated, with layers of blackberry compote, mocha, iron minerality, and a touch of pine needle. The tannins are firm and structured but integrated, supporting a long, focused finish.
