Iichiko - Napoleon Shochu

Iichiko is one of Japan’s most respected and internationally recognized shochu producers, renowned for elevating barley shochu through meticulous craftsmanship, purity, and balance. Produced in Oita Prefecture on Japan’s Kyushu island — a historic center of shochu production — Iichiko emphasizes high-quality barley, pristine water, and careful distillation techniques.

Napoleon Shochu is crafted in a richer and more mature style than lighter traditional shochu expressions, drawing inspiration from the elegance and smoothness often associated with aged brandy. Made primarily from barley and koji, the spirit undergoes precise fermentation and distillation to preserve delicate grain aromatics while achieving exceptional smoothness.

Extended maturation and blending contribute additional depth, texture, and complexity, creating layers of caramel, toasted grain, and subtle oak-like character while maintaining the clean finish characteristic of premium shochu. The result is a polished and versatile spirit that bridges traditional Japanese craftsmanship with a more luxurious sipping profile.
