The family-run distillery released this Glenfarclas Single Cask Whiskey from 1989 in the summer of 2022 for their Family Casks series. The single malt whiskey spent its cask maturity from 1989 to 2022 in Sherry Butt 13031. The distillery bottled the Scotch at cask strength at 52.3 percent by volume. As a natural Scotch, it also comes without coloring and chill filtration. Nosing: The whiskey penetrates the nose with an intense sherry aroma. It also smells of dark plums and juicy raisins. Cherries are present. Barley penetrates. Behind it are tobacco, dark chocolate and leather. Tasting: The Glenfarclas Family Casks 1989 sits firmly on the tongue. He tastes spicy. Sherry and sweet vanilla are present. Chocolate penetrates and meets coffee notes. Finish: The finish is long-lasting. The single cask whiskey says goodbye with persistent spice. He leaves oak and chocolate.
