Glenburgie 22 Year Old 1998 – Connoisseurs Choice Gordon & MacPhail

A delightful Glenburgie from Gordon and MacPhail’s superb Connoisseurs Choice series.Glenburgie is a Speyside distillery known for producing a grassy, malty whisky with a weighty body. The malt has traditionally been a core part of the Ballantine’s blend, but is increasingly recognised for the quality of its single malt.An 1998 vintage, that was bottled in 2021, the whisky has been aged in a single refill Sherry Butt.This whisky delivers flavours of soft white pepper which lead to smooth cinnamon and baked apples. Candied Orange and sweet strawberry liquorice gives way to hazelnut.Bottled at a hefty cask strength of 57% ABV, and without artificial colouration or chill filtration, this is an expertly crafted whisky, full in both body and flavour.
