Andremily 2021 Mourvedre

The 2021 vintage is crafted from approximately 88% Mourvèdre and 12% Syrah, sourced from sites including Slide Hill, Alta Mesa and White Hawk in Santa Barbara County. Around 75% whole-cluster fermentation was used, followed by ~21 months of aging in ~50% new French barriques and large demi-muids. The cooler ripening season lent freshness and aromatic clarity to a grape that can easily turn rustic.

This wine bursts from the glass with blueberry candy, wild violet, juniper and touches of coffee bean, warm chocolate, and aniseed. On the palate it offers concentrated dark-fruit layers, finely chalky tannins and a vivid acidity, finishing extraordinarily long and perfumed.

Give this wine a few years to integrate; it is best enjoyed from 2027-2035, with a peak drinking window around 2028-2032. Bottle now if you can hold it, as structure and depth will shine with age.
