Anakota Montana Cabernet Sauvignon

Anakota is a boutique winery dedicated exclusively to mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma County. Focused on distinct hillside vineyard sites, the winery emphasizes precision viticulture and low-intervention winemaking to showcase the individuality of each terroir. The Montana Vineyard, located on the western slopes of Knights Valley, is known for its rocky volcanic soils, high elevation, and cooling influences that contribute both concentration and freshness.

The vineyard’s challenging growing conditions naturally limit yields, producing intensely flavoured fruit with firm structure and aromatic complexity. Warm daytime temperatures encourage full phenolic ripeness, while cool evenings help preserve acidity and balance.

Fruit is hand-harvested and carefully sorted before fermentation in small lots. Gentle extraction techniques maintain elegance alongside power, while aging in French oak barrels adds texture, integration, and nuanced spice without overshadowing the vineyard’s expression. The result is a Cabernet Sauvignon that balances mountain intensity with sophistication and precision.
