Robert Gilvesy Bohem

Founded by Robert Gilvesy in 2012, Gilvesy Winery sits on Szent György-hegy, one of the volcanic hills overlooking Lake Balaton. The vineyards are shaped by ancient basalt and loess soils, which give the wines their characteristic freshness, mineral tension and subtle salinity. Gilvesy began transitioning its vineyards to organic farming in 2014 and focuses on low-intervention winemaking. The 2024 Bohém blends Olaszrizling, Rajnai Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. Whole bunches and destemmed fruit are pressed together, followed by spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel and six months of lees ageing, preserving freshness while adding texture.

Colour: Pale straw with green-gold highlights.

Nose: Fresh sage, thyme and basil with lemon and crisp green apple.

Palate: Bright and zesty, with green apple, preserved lemon and lively acidity over subtle volcanic minerality.

Finish: Crisp and saline, with lingering citrus, herbs and a light peppery edge.
