Frasca La Guaragna Nizza DOCG

Frasca La Guaragna was founded in Nizza Monferrato with a focus on showing the depth and age-worthiness of Barbera. The estate farms roughly 22 hectares across Nizza Monferrato, Agliano Terme and Moasca, where clay-rich calcareous soils contribute concentration, freshness and mineral character.

The Nizza DOCG is 100% Barbera from vines averaging around 35 years old. Grapes undergo gentle pressing with some whole berries and extended maceration, followed by six months in large oak casks and additional bottle ageing. The restrained oak keeps the emphasis on Barbera’s fruit and natural acidity.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep ruby with violet highlights.

Nose: Black cherry, plum and blackberry with violet, baking spice and subtle mineral notes.

Palate: Rich and concentrated, with ripe dark fruit, lively acidity and fine, supple tannins.

Finish: Long and savoury, with lingering berry fruit, spice and mineral freshness.
