History

Although not formally a Scotch region, the islands off the coast of Scotland (with the exception of Islay) are often considered to be their own category. There are a variety of differing profiles coming from the islands, however islands such as Jura, Orkney, and Skye lay claim to full-bodied, peated drams due to the rugged terrain, windswept soil, and maritime influence.
