Vieux Chateau Palon 2018 St Emilion

Vieux Château Palon is located in the Montagne-Saint-Émilion appellation on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, near the historic village of Saint-Émilion. The estate sits on clay-limestone soils with favourable sun exposure and natural drainage, conditions particularly well-suited to Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
The 2018 vintage in Bordeaux benefited from a warm, dry summer that allowed grapes to achieve excellent ripeness and concentration while maintaining freshness. The wine is typically composed primarily of Merlot with Cabernet Franc adding structure and aromatic lift.

Colour: Deep ruby with garnet and purple reflections

Nose: Aromas of black cherry, ripe plum, and dark berries, layered with notes of tobacco, vanilla, cedar, figs, and subtle herbal spice

Palate: Medium- to full-bodied, with concentrated dark fruit flavours, smooth yet firm tannins, and balanced acidity; hints of licorice, cocoa, and oak spice add depth and richness

Finish: Long and polished, with lingering dark fruit, chocolate, spice, and savoury mineral notes
