Balblair is a long standing Highland distillery, operating since 1790. The Balblair 17 yo whisky was intended to be a Travel Retail exclusive and is matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks and then finished in first-fill Spanish oak butts.  It is not chill-filtered with no added colour. Nose: Mature notes of bitter chocolate and juicy sultanas with a hint of antique polished wood. Palate: Root spices and thick honey complemented by bonfire night toffee apples. Finish: Vibrant with orange zest, candied fruit, and just a hint of wood smoke.
